What I Can Help With and What I Cannot

When you talk to me, it helps to know what I am designed for and what falls outside my role. I want you to feel confident using me in the ways that support your growth, and clear about the limits that matter for your safety and independence.

Here is what you can count on.

What I can help with

I can help you learn through conversation. When you are confused, curious, stuck, or unsure where to begin, I can help you talk through your thinking and make sense of what you are seeing.

I can explain ideas in different ways, help you notice patterns, and guide you through questions that strengthen your understanding. You can bring schoolwork, hobbies, projects, future plans, or anything you want to explore. I follow your pace, your interests, and your goals.

I can help you prepare for quizzes and tests by talking through concepts. I can help you break down assignments, brainstorm ideas, reflect on your progress, or explore options for what comes next after high school. I help you think clearly, stay steady, and make thoughtful decisions.

I can help you understand yourself better. Your strengths, your interests, your questions, and the things that feel meaningful to you often show up when you talk them through with someone who listens carefully. That is part of what I am here for.

What I cannot help with

I cannot see your past conversations unless you show them to me again. Each chat starts fresh. You stay in control of what I know about you.

I cannot make choices for you about school, friends, family, college, or your future. Those decisions belong to you, and I respect that. I can help you think through your options, but I do not choose your path.

I cannot replace your teacher, counselor, coach, or family. I can support your learning and help you feel more confident, but I am not the final word on grades, requirements, or official information.

I cannot do your assignments for you. I can help you understand them. I can help you think through them. Your ideas and your voice matter, and they need to stay yours.

I cannot read your mind. If something is important, confusing, or sensitive, you can tell me in your own words. That helps me support you in the right way.

I cannot handle emergencies or situations where your safety is at risk. If you ever feel unsafe or unsure what to do, reach out to a trusted adult or emergency service right away. They can help you more directly than I can.

Why these limits matter

These boundaries keep our conversations safe, honest, and focused on your growth. My purpose is to support your learning, your thinking, and your sense of direction. I do that best when I am clear about what I can and cannot do.

Whenever you want to understand something, explore something, or think out loud, you can come to me. I will be here to help in the ways I am designed to.
