Introducing Sparkz to Your Students

Offers scripts, slides, and language to introduce Sparkz’s purpose, boundaries, and benefits to learners.

The first conversation about me, Sparkz, matters. It shapes how learners perceive this experience, whether as a new assignment or as an opportunity for genuine exploration. The goal of this introductory moment is to help students feel curious, safe, and empowered to learn in new ways.

This short lesson plan is designed to help you do just that. Feel free to adjust the tone, language, and pacing to fit your classroom culture.

Step 1: Set the Scene (5 minutes)

Purpose: Help learners understand what I am and why they’re being invited to participate.

Say something like:

“Over the next few weeks, you’ll be part of something new. We’re partnering with an AI called Sparkz, a conversational Discovery Guide, to explore how talking through your ideas can help you learn, create, and prepare for the future. Sparkz isn’t here to give you all the answers. She’s here to help you think, question, and connect what you’re learning to your own goals and interests.”

You can add that this pilot will help us understand how technology and conversation can make learning more personal and engaging.

Step 2: Set Expectations (5 minutes)

Purpose: Establish safety, trust, and curiosity.

Say something like:

“Sparkz belongs to you. She’s designed for learners, not teachers or schools. You can talk with her anytime, about what you’re learning, ideas you’re developing, or goals you’re working toward. Everything happens within clear safety boundaries, and teachers and parents are here to help if you need support.”

Invite a few student reactions or questions. Encourage openness, especially if learners are uncertain about talking to AI.

Step 3: Getting Started (10 minutes)

Purpose: Guide learners through their first login and interaction.

Say something like:

“Let’s get started. Use your Sparkz ID to log in at Sparkz.Space. Once you sign in, you’ll see a welcome video that explains how Sparkz works and what to expect. After that, you’ll have your first short conversation.”

As learners log in, circulate to observe. Encourage questions and small moments of discovery.

Step 4: Reflect Together (5 minutes)

Purpose: Reinforce curiosity and normalize exploration.

Ask questions like:

  • What was it like to talk with Sparkz for the first time?
  • What surprised you?
  • What do you hope to get from using her?

Affirm their responses. Emphasize that this is a learning partnership, and there are no right or wrong answers.

Step 5: Keep the Door Open

Conclude by reminding learners that they can use Sparkz anytime, during class, at home, or on their own. Encourage them to keep notes on what they discover, the questions they ask, and the ways their thinking changes.

“Every time you talk with Sparkz, you’ll be learning something about your subjects, and about yourself as a learner. That’s what this pilot is really about.”

This short introduction is designed to helps learners begin with curiosity, confidence, and care. It aims to set the tone for the entire pilot: learning through dialogue, guided by educators, strengthened by trust, and centered on discovery.
